You should differ between trattoria and restaurant. Trattorie are typically smaller, family-run establishments that offer a more authentic local experience, while restaurants are usually larger with a wider menu and more formal atmosphere.

Discover the best attractions and hidden gems around Sicily. Considering that the public transport is not the best in Sicily, most of the places are reachable by car. We have a lot more recommendations, just hit us up!
Beautiful historic town with cobblestone streets and traditional architecture. Also a place where The Godfather was filmed.
Directions →Giardini Naxos: where ancient Greeks landed 2,700 years ago and, judging by the beach, never really felt like leaving — soft sand, glass-clear water, and zero regrets. Bring your sunscreen, leave your worries, and maybe don't found a colony while you're there.
Directions →Just up the coast, Isola Bella sits like a tiny green jewel dropped in impossibly blue water, connected to the mainland by a sandbar you can practically wade across (no boat-founding skills required, unlike our Naxos friends). Climb the hill above it and you hit Taormina, all cliffside views, an ancient Greek theater, and streets so charming you'll want to cancel your flight home and just move in.
